Linda❤️ Litter Genie
by Linda Hall, Cat Behavior Expert
When I first read about the Litter Genie, I came to the conclusion that it was just a diaper pail for cats and I didn’t need one. I didn’t think it was a bad idea. I just didn’t see the need.
One day as I was making my order from Chewy.com, there was an offer to get a free Litter Genie if you bought another product. I am a sucker for a freebie so of course I ordered it! That’s how I found out how wrong I was!
Normally to scoop I grab grocery bags and the scoop from the back porch and carry them around to scoop. I have four boxes on the first floor and four on the second floor, so that’s a lot of carrying around!
The Litter Genie pail comes with a long roll of bags. You pull the bag roll up and secure it, and it’s ready to go. There is a scoop on the side of the pail, which is very handy! Am I the only one who loses track of where my scoop went?
I put the Litter Genie in my bedroom next to the litter box. When I need to scoop, I just open the lid, grab that handy scoop, and get scooping. Then all I do is pull the lever and the used litter drops down into the bucket and then the lid slides back closed, which helps keep the odors down.
Additionally the lid closes and to be PURR-fectly honest, I can leave used litter for a week and it does not smell at all! Instead of going out to grab bags and scoop, do the job and then take the bag out, I just open the lid, scoop, and close the lid.
If you have a large, multi-cat household, I would suggest you get a larger one. The standard one is great for keeping in my bedroom which is the most used box but with 11 cats, I wish I’d ordered the larger one. If you have 1 or 2 cats, the original size would probably be great for you.
I can admit when I’m wrong! In fact, I ordered a second one! ?
