Hannah Shaw, better known as Kitten Lady, has dedicated her life to protecting orphaned kittens and teaching others how to help the smallest and most vulnerable felines.

I’ve had the pleasure of welcoming Hannah to 19 Cats & Counting twice. In our first conversation, Hannah joined me to discuss how she became the Kitten Lady, her work rescuing and raising neonatal kittens, and her bestselling book, Tiny But Mighty.

Hannah later returned to talk about fostering cats and kittens and the many different ways people can help.

Episode 13: Saving the Tiniest Felines

During the first of my Hannah Shaw interviews, we talked about how she became involved in kitten rescue and built a mission around saving orphaned kittens who might otherwise have little chance of survival.

Hannah shared stories about raising bottle-fed kittens, preparing young animals for their forever homes, and helping people understand that even the smallest acts can make an enormous difference. We also discussed her book, Tiny But Mighty, which combines kitten-care guidance with stories from her years of rescue work.

Episode 31: Hannah Shaw Returns to Talk About Fostering

During the second of my Hannah Shaw interviews, Hannah returned to discuss fostering and her work with Royal Canin to spread awareness about its importance.

We talked about the many different ways people can foster. Some foster caregivers take on tiny kittens who require bottle-feeding and around-the-clock care, while others help older kittens, adult cats, or senior cats who suddenly find themselves without a home.

Fostering gives cats and kittens a safe place to grow, recover, learn to trust people, and prepare for adoption. It also creates space in shelters and rescues so they can save more lives.
